a part of my heart lives in Kenya. Allow me to share....
The Great Commission in action
My heroes Randy, Becky, Nichole and Joel Coates are our dear friends who moved from Atlanta, Georgia to follow God's call on their lives to advance the kingdom of God in East Africa by taking the gospel to those who haven't heard. God has blessed immeasurable more than they could have ever asked or imagined!
The Coates family partners alongside Kenyans to reach the unreached people of East Africa. Along with pastor Dr. Francis Kamau, Randy associate pastors a church in Nairobi that has grown to over 1200 people and his wife Becky serves as the children's ministry director to 200 kids weekly.
Coates Ministries also extends the love of Jesus into Kibera Slum, the largest slum in Africa. Here they do one-on-one outreach, visit mothers and children, share Jesus' love, and lay hands on the sick.
Their ministry also partners with an organization to drill freshwater wells for the people of Turkana, a semi-nomadic people in the remote areas outside of Nairobi. In these villages they also share the gospel of Jesus to the unreached, set up camp in the villages to get to know the people, pray for them and help them plant churches. Over 40 churches have been planted as a result to this outreach! God is doing huge things!!
It is my heart to share with you the amazing things God in doing through the faithful obedience of this family and their ministry. Twig+Bone has created a line of necklaces called "Mudcloth for Ministry". These items are made almost entirely of African products: hand-dyed Malian mud cloth, Kenyan bone beads, recycled glass from Ghana, and bone discs from Kenya. 100% of the profits from these necklaces will go to support God's work in Africa through Coates Ministries. We also give 5% of our sales each month to the ministry. Please consider supporting this ministry in prayer and visit their website at coatesministries.com.
To God be the Glory!
